Sessions with Lyndsay Hannah Photography are relaxed and fun. Lyndsay guides each family with style tips, her expert knowledge of Massachusetts' seasons and locations, and her eye for movement and color.
Sessions last up to one hour and can include one set of grandparents.

Where is the best place to take family photos in Boston?
As a decade plus Boston family photographer, I have tested out hundreds of local Massachusetts locations. Some work year-round, others are perfect for overcast skies, some look their best in May or November. There are many other factors to consider as well. Do you have a toddler? Are you an active family? Do you live in Downtown Boston or in the suburbs? Do we really *need* to take photos during the golden hour before sunset? I am not sure my kids will do well at that hour!
Here's the thing, you CAN take photos at any time of day, however my job as an expert in lighting is to guide you towards what I *know* will look great. You are attracted to my family photos for a reason and that reason is partially the beautiful lighting. Want to take photos midday? Let's do an in-home family photo session! Not sold on indoors? I can make recommendations for Boston locations that I love that can cheat the sunset a bit and still provide even, soft light. Also, here's some tips for evening sessions with young kids!

All of your clients look so perfectly styled, I have no idea what to dress my family in. Will you help?
Yes! I absolutely will guide you as much or as little as you'd like. My ultimate goal is *always* to have your family feel authentically YOU in your family photos. My styling email includes some and do’s and dont’s when thinking about outfits. Sometimes the “rules” of what might look good in real life don’t translate to on camera and I want every client to look and feel their best when they see their photos. Not a dress person? Let’s chat about rompers or jeans! Hate dresses but still want something flowy? How about a long skirt and simple tee. Have all boys and don't know what to do besides jeans? I can help! My family and I feel awkward in front of the camera. How can we get this candid, relaxed look if we aren't photogenic?
If I had a nickel for every time one of my clients told me they aren't photogenic, I would be a very rich woman! Very, very few people are actually natural in front of the camera. That's where I come in...I promise I will guide you, pose you, and help you relax into the session with movement and laughter. The good news is that it's actually extremely hard to focus on the camera while also wrangling your children. Energetic toddlers are the key to loosening everyone up! Here are my favorite tips for having a successful Boston family photo session.
