Usually when I hear teenagers will be joining my family photography sessions, my palms start to sweat a bit. Teens are notorious for not loving getting their picture taken with their families (unless it’s a selfie, of course!). Last November, when I arrived to the O Family’s home in Framingham, all those stereotypes went out the window. These teenagers are the sweetest, most loving big brother and sister I have ever met. They were playful and patient with their little brother, and this year with their new little sister.

The O Family has a big, beautiful backyard right in my hometown of Framingham that offers a lot of opportunities for an at- home family session. Although it was unseasonably hot and humid on the evening of our session, they were all troopers! Little brother stole the show with his 3-year-old antics and kept everyone laughing and playful. Also, can we talk about how brilliant this Mama is at outfit coordination? I sometimes have trouble coordinating my own two children, never mind six people!

We started our session by taking a classic family photograph on the front porch. I always suggest this to my clients! Your house is your family’s home base and I just love seeing a family photograph in front of the place they spend most of their time. We then moved to their beautiful backyard for the remainder of the session. The best part about having a session in your own backyard is the ability to just walk right inside afterwards. Mom was joking that they were all changed into sweatpants before I had even backed out of the driveway! It’s always great to see you, O Family! Can’t wait to see how all the kids have grown and changed next year.
