While leaf peepers were disappointed in the lack of foliage in New England this season, it meant the warm weather continued unseasonably into November. I certainly wasn’t complaining during this Larz Anderson session! I can recall being freezing during my November sessions a couple years ago. This year, I barely wore a puffy vest and was often too warm with one on. In the Summer, I remember my November bookings being a little concerned about the weather. In reality, this year they lucked out. October dates were often too warm and green.

First to start my November photography sessions was the adorable H family. We braved the 40% chance of rain and stayed (mostly) dry. In the middle of our session, it briefly down poured and we ran for cover in the Auto Museum!  Little mister adorable was a little shy at first, but some games of peek-a-boo around the statues warmed him right up. If you’ve never checked out this park in Brookline, I highly recommend it. The scenery is great and very diverse! Not only do you have a view of downtown Boston, you have a lake, bridge, forest, and some cool buildings. Perfect to keep a busy toddler entertained.

We began our family photos by a gorgeous yellow maple that was still in full color and then headed down to the lake where we found a lot of Autumn foliage. One of the benefits to a warm Autumn was definitely the late leaves present for November sessions! A little snuggling and laughing with Mom and Dad under the willow trees made for some perfect smiles. We ended our session with some piggy back rides around the lake and made it back to the car just in time for the down pour on my drive home.
