When you travel with your family, how do you remember/commemorate your vacation? I remember as kids, we were given a budget by my parents to pick out a souvenir during each trip. I often chose a location specific sweatshirt or t-shirt, or a National Parks hiking medallion for my hiking stick. As a young adult, I’d get a mug. My sister and her boyfriend collect specialty fridge magnets from each spot they visit. This family below lives in Philadelphia but Boston holds a special place in their hearts. This July, they planned a trip to bring their son for the first time. Instead of a traditional souvenir, this Mama thought that a family photo shoot to remember their visit was an ideal take away. I hadn’t thought about this before but am in love with the idea and want to incorporate this into our own family vacations in the future. Having an album of photographs from each special place we’ve traveled is something I’ll treasure for many years.

This Mom and Dad met in Boston. They went to school here. They lived steps from the Public Garden during their formative years. Naturally, the Public Garden was the perfect place for their family session! We began at the Make Way For Ducklings statue (one of their son’s favorite children’s books) and made our way around the park, laughing and playing the whole way. This little cutie even brought his OWN camera and couldn’t wait to show me how he takes pictures too! L Family, it was such a pleasure to meet you all.
