When this Mama first contacted me about taking her family’s portraits, we chatted about locations. She mentioned that she was in Law School at Harvard so the law school campus had special meaning to her. I immediately agreed that we should do her photos there! The Harvard campus is like this little oasis in the middle of the city. You enter through the wrought iron gates and suddenly leave the hustle and bustle of beeping city traffic behind. The campus is still bustling, but in a different way. An eclectic bunch of students and professionals are both walking through and just hanging out. Beautiful old buildings with amazing architecture are dotted all over the campus. Tons of amazing locations for photographs!

We began our family session in front of the Harvard Law Library, a spot where Mama is obviously very familiar! This dapper little guy wanted nothing to do with taking pictures and just wanted to run, run, run. So classic for an 18 month old. They have a new skill and all they want to do is use it! We quickly learned that the best thing to do was to let the man in suspenders lead the way. From bike racks to rocky pebbles, we explored all aspects of the campus. We took our time and paused to read a few books and partake in a little snacking along the way. Mama was able to show us several buildings that have special meaning to her on her journey to obtain her law degree. From law school, to parenting, to teaching their son multiple languages…this family is juggling it all with so much grace!

Though the 92 degree humid evening was challenging, we were treated to a beautiful sunset to close our session. I had so much fun exploring Harvard with you, S Family!
