Old North Bridge in Concord is one of my favorite locations for family photos in Autumn. It has everything you’d look for as a photographer. A beautiful bridge, great sunset and a big open field.

This October was one of the wettest I can remember. I don’t know how many days it rained, but session after session had to be rescheduled. Family Photographers everywhere were pulling their hair out! This particular day in Concord was overcast but not raining. While I didn’t get to take advantage of a beautiful sunset, there were definitely less tourists to contend with! Overcast days can also create a soft diffused light, similar to candle light, that is flattering to everyone.

My sessions this evening were full of adorable little boy energy. One of the best things about this Concord location is that it is active-kid-friendly. There is plenty of room to run and play with lots of interesting spots to explore.

My family sessions are relaxed and active and perfect for little kids who might not want to sit still. Because I am a mother of three active boys, finding the perfect location where all that can happen with ease is an important part of my job! While I love exploring new locations with clients (or their unique homes!), it’s important to me to have great options in my back pocket. At Old North Bridge, I know the light, the best spots, and what to expect in all forms of weather! Plus, you can’t beat the color in this spot for an Autumn family session.
