When the S Family flew in from Texas for their family photo session, they probably didn’t expect it to be frigid. After a very mild beginning of October, temperatures in the 20s weren’t on anyone’s radar. But the weather gods of Massachusetts had fun playing jokes on us this year! I looked at the forecast a few days prior to our session and got a little nervous. How would these Texans handle the chilly temps? Luckily, they handled it like absolute champs and came prepared with jackets and blankets.
We met at the Public Garden and began with a quick walk to Beacon Hill‘s famous Acorn Street to keep our bodies moving and warm. Acorn Street is one of my favorite spots in Boston. Beautiful homes and quaint cobblestones make it an ideal backdrop for a family photo session. Mr. 4-years-old loved the “rocky street” and couldn’t wait to jump into photos with his family.
After some snuggles and laughter on the Hill, we headed back to the Public Gardens to catch the last sun rays of the day. Vacation photography sessions are such a wonderful way to remember your time while traveling. When families are documenting their time in Boston, I always recommend the Public Garden and Beacon Hill. Not only are they beautiful, but they are historical landmarks of our city.
As the sun was dipping below the skyline, we made a bee-line for the only tree with beautiful color in the Garden.
Lucky for us, one red tree managed to hang onto her vibrant leaves into late October! By this time baby sister was struggling. It was late and chilly and she was (rightly) over it after being such a good sport. S Family, I had a blast! I hope you love your images and always remember your (chilly) time in Boston.

"To say that I love each one would be cliche and a total understatement, but seriously... She nailed it. Being a photographer myself, I am very picky and searched dozens of photographers before coming back to lyndsay and booking her and I am so glad I did. I can't even remember the last time I hired a photographer and was this in love with the images and unable to pick just a few favorites. Thank you, lyndsay, for making the photo session easy (with 3 kids), fun and providing this mama memories for a lifetime.”
"Our images are so special and really captured our joy and the sweet personality of our little girl. Lyndsay did a great job going beyond the typical posed shots and making our photos feel authentic. We will treasure them forever."
