Framingham Photo Locations | Boston Family Photographer
A few weeks ago, I mentioned that one of my favorite places to photograph families is the Old North Bridge in Concord. Another favorite is Farm Pond Park in my hometown of Framingham. Aside from being close to home, it offers all the key attributes of a good family photo location. It offers full shade and tall trees for filtering non-ideal light. There are pretty woods and a beautiful lake. It’s not very crowded…aside from the swans and the foliage is superb in the Autumn months.
Non-ideal Light for Photo Sessions
The Autumn tends to be the most popular time of year for a New England family to be photographed. Because of this, I take on some sessions that don’t occur during the ideal “golden hour”. Farm Pond Park has amazing trees that help filter that incredibly strong midday light which is necessary for a good portrait!
Crowds at Your Photo Shoot
My favorite locations for Framingham photo sessions tend to be a little bit off the beaten path. While I love some of the popular locations around town, families tend to be able to focus more (especially kids) when they don’t feel like people are watching them. Farm Pond Park has the occasional jogger or dog walker, but we mostly have the place to ourselves!
A Natural Backdrop
The ideal backdrop for your family photographs is really a matter of preference. I love a natural, woodsy background because I feel it helps keep the focus on your family and their connection. Plus, if you live in Massachusetts in the Autumn, why not showcase the glorious colors?
A Beautiful Golden Hour
Having a photo location that can handle non-ideal lighting is important, but you also want it to have that gorgeous sunset glow. Did you know that not every location is great at sunset? Some have too much light, some too little and some set in the wrong direction. Farm Pond Park’s sunset is one of my favorites!
