When this family first contacted me about a Newton newborn photography session, they were concerned about the ongoing construction in their Newton home. I reassured them that we would still be able to get wonderful pictures. Many clients worry about the appearance of their home when considering a lifestyle in-home session. A skilled photographer can use angles and depth of field to minimize the clutter and photograph your home in the best light possible. In fact, figuring out how to downplay a mess, clutter, or something like home construction is a specialty of mine. I photograph my kids daily and the majority of these pictures end up being inside our home. I can assure you that my home does not look like it does in the photographs. My job as a lifestyle photographer is to document your life in a realistic, but eye-catching way.

Does this mean that you shouldn’t worry about cleaning up a single thing before your newborn photo session? Not necessarily. Little things like clearing clutter off side tables can go a long way to helping your photographer have more options for angles. The more options I have, the more creative and diverse I can be! However, sometimes bringing your new baby home is so overwhelming that you can’t manage to clean up anything. That’s okay too. Motherhood is beautiful but challenging…you don’t need to stress about your newborn pictures!
