The only thing more exciting for me than a Fresh 48 session is a twin Fresh 48 session! Because who doesn’t want to photograph two tiny and wrinkly 2 day old babies in the course of one session? Sign me up! Twins can be tricky for Fresh 48 sessions simply because they often come a bit early and sometimes need special care. As a Fresh 48 photographer, I have to be as flexible as possible as the status of either twin can change day to day.

This session was no exception! Mom and Dad didn’t know whether the twins would need special care after birth or not. As it turns out, one twin did and one didn’t. Because Mom was going to be discharged before the twin in Special Care, we scheduled the Fresh 48 at UMass Memorial before she checked out. Although I was unable to photograph the twins together, I was able to do two mini-fresh 48 sessions.

Working around the feeding schedule of the twin in the Special Care Unit, I began there. These two girls were seriously some of the cutest, tiniest babies I have ever seen! I was lucky to not only be able to photograph Mom and Dad with the girls, but also their grandparents visiting from India. After we finished pictures of that baby girl, we headed downstairs to the maternity floor to capture the details of her sister.

The girls were both doing so well and working on gaining weight. Lucky for them, their Daddy is a pediatrician and was handling the feeding and burping like a champ when I arrived. I am super excited for their newborn session in a couple weeks when I get to photograph the girls together for the first time!
