What is personal branding?

I first met Amanda during her family photography session last Autumn. Her charming smile and adorable daughter and husband won me over immediately. When she inquired about a personal branding session, I was thrilled. Amanda is a a writer and brand messaging consultant based out of Boston’s Metro-West. Her job is to help other companies and small business owners discover their voice and market it. Streamlining your branding with professional, targeted copy helps attract and retain ideal clients.

I am very passionate about personal branding too. I spend a lot of time honing my style and ensuring that my website reflects that. The images I select are carefully curated to attract my own ideal clients. Amanda and I had a blast working together. A branding consultant paired with a visual marketing photographer is a match made in heaven!

Amanda’s session began in her home office. I wanted to tell the whole story of her typical process with a client. An inquiry comes in and Amanda begins the conversation with listening. Behind the scenes, she enters the discovery process of delving into each individual brand to come up with a custom message.

Working From Home As a Parent

As I intimately know, working from home has its unique challenges when you’re a mom. Amanda’s adorable daughter poked her head in to say hi while we were shooting. I was so excited to be able to photograph what real life as a work-from-home mom looks like.

Amanda and I finished our session at one of her favorite cafes. Working from home can sometimes be an isolating experience. I often find inspiration working in places outside of my home and Amanda reported the same. Thank goodness for portable laptops and delicious lattes!
