In November of 2018, I gave birth to my third son and had every intention of ‘taking it easy’ for 2019. Those who knew me well probably chuckled when I said this aloud. I am not known for my ability to rest, relax, or take things slow. The last twelve months have been both challenging and rewarding. Full of growth and set-backs simultaneously. Balancing three active kids and running a business is freaking HARD work. Someone or something always needs me and it’s impossible to not feel torn in four directions daily. The life of a working mom is hard…you always feel like you can’t give work or the kids 100% because you have to split your focus between both! This perpetually leaves you feeling like you’ve failed or are failing one or the other. I feel that being a work-from-home mom is the biggest challenge of all. Society expects these moms to be able to fulfill the same roles/tasks as a stay-at-home mom while also managing a business. Phew. I am exhausted just writing that all out.
These three little guys though, man they are worth it. Through all the work-from-home challenges I have faced in 2019, I am always left with one overwhelming feeling: gratitude. Gratitude that I am able to set my own schedule. I am able to be at the bus stop every morning and every afternoon. Most weeks, I can work my schedule in a way that doesn’t involve too much childcare stress. And above all, I am thankful that I am able to provide for my family while doing something that makes me feel happy and inspired every day.
Professionally, this year topped all the rest for me. I had the honor and privilege of photographing families, weddings, entrepreneurs, newborns, a surprise proposal, and even a celebrity. I was able to far surpass the revenue goals I had set for myself and become a contributing partner to our family income.
For all of this, I thank all of my clients, friends, and family from the bottom of my heart. I could not be successful and chase this dream of mine without all of you. Over the last few days, I have revisited the file folders for every session I photographed in 2019. I have chosen one image from each session and created a 2019 Year In Review video. Watching this video slideshow gives me goosebumps and makes me feel inspired and ready to chase more goals in 2020. Who’s with me?
2019 clients, can you spot yourself?

"To say that I love each one would be cliche and a total understatement, but seriously... She nailed it. Being a photographer myself, I am very picky and searched dozens of photographers before coming back to lyndsay and booking her and I am so glad I did. I can't even remember the last time I hired a photographer and was this in love with the images and unable to pick just a few favorites. Thank you, lyndsay, for making the photo session easy (with 3 kids), fun and providing this mama memories for a lifetime.”
"Our images are so special and really captured our joy and the sweet personality of our little girl. Lyndsay did a great job going beyond the typical posed shots and making our photos feel authentic. We will treasure them forever."
