This Framingham newborn session was a personal favorite of mine. Sometimes all of the stars align and you meet the most wonderful, relaxed, snuggly family like this one. Their Framingham apartment floor-to-ceiling windows would bring any photographer joy! Combine that with super cool exposed brick and an adorably precocious not-quite-two-year-old and you get a winning combination.
You may remember this adorable family from their Fresh 48 session a month prior. As a Framingham newborn photographer, I get asked many common questions about the sessions I offer. One popular one is how a Fresh 48 session and an In-Home Newborn Session differ. Why would someone choose one over the other or want both?
How does an In-Home Newborn Session differ from a Fresh 48?
In-Home Newborn Sessions are a little more styled.
With access to your home, your full wardrobe, and all your belongings, you are able to style your family a bit more than in the hospital. While no one is dressing in their family finest a couple weeks post-partum, everyone is feeling a little more ready to be in real clothes than 24-48 hours post birth.
In-Home Newborn Sessions are very personal.
The best thing about having your newborn session in the comfort of your own home is the personalization. Not only is your sweet baby being photographed, but so is your home. No matter what it looks like, or how you feel about your current decor, this is where you brought your baby home. This is most likely where he/she will sit up, smile for the first time, try their first food and take their first step. Make sure you capture the memories in the spot you will be making most of these memories!
Everyone is more relaxed at home.
While your toddler likely will exhibit wonder and awe at your fresh 48 session (or completely ignore the new baby), they’ll be more comfortable at home. While that may mean they are OVER having a new sibling, it also means they have a comfortable space to have some down time when they are over the picture-taking. You as parents are also more relaxed. You’re in your own space without a variety of strangers poking their heads in to examine you. We can take our time and ensure we capture the best of everyone in the unique features of your home.
