If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know that I am pretty obsessed with the outdoors. My favorite hobbies include hiking and gardening and I am always trying to get more hours in the sunshine. Because of this, one of my favorite genres to photograph for personal brand photography is outdoor brands! Outdoor brands I have worked with include garden and landscape companies, farmers and CSA’s, outdoor/forest preschools, and even an outdoor pest control brand! All of these gave me the opportunity to be outdoors, highlight the beauty of the seasons and landscapes, and sometimes get my hands (and definitely my boots!) dirty.

When Landscape Collaborative reached out to me in 2024 to work together on images that show their amazing team in action, I was elated! Landscape Collaborative offers garden maintenance, landscape construction, lawn care, and snow removal services to residential clients throughout the Greater Boston area. They had hired landscape photographers in the past to capture those wide angle images that highlighted their finished gardens and landscapes. What they hadn’t done before was hire a photographer go on site to capture the process with the focus on their amazing team.

The Power of Highlighting Your Team for Outdoor Brands

This is a pretty common situation for brands to be in when they contact me. Oftentimes they have invested in professional photography when it comes to their product but haven’t yet hired a pro to highlight their team. With the rise of digital marketing on instagram, facebook, google ads, pinterest, and linkedin, investing in images that tell a story is key to helping your brand stand out amongst all the other brands.

If you live in a populated area like the Boston or Greater Boston area, there are usually countless companies offering the same (or a similar) product or service. What is unique to your brand or company is YOU and your team. We want to create images that show how you provide the service, why you provide the service, and what it feels like to work with you.

These are the types of visuals that your potential clients and audience will connect with! Seeing the face behind the brand helps to strengthen that like, know, and trust factor.

How often do outdoor brands need to have photos taken?

These outdoor brand images were taken for Landscape Collaborative in December as they wrapped up their projects for the season. I’ll be working with them over the course of 2025 to highlight their team throughout all of the seasons we have the pleasure of experiencing here in Boston. Working with brands quarterly is such a wonderful experience as it allows us to develop a wonderful working relationship. Not to mention creating a sizable portfolio of working images for the company for all marketing needs. If you are an outdoor brand in an area that is very seasonal, you don’t want to be sharing Fall images when you’re marketing in the Springtime!
