I wrapped up my 11th year in business as a Boston brand, family and newborn photographer with 230 photoshoots. 230 opportunities to meet new people, tell their family or brand stories, and make magic behind my camera. I am so, so grateful each and every year for all those who choose to hire me.
A fun way to look back each year is my annual superlatives post! If you’re new to my business or my blog this year, this is a funny way to commemorate the more memorable moments of 2025.
Without further ado, let’s award some superlatives!!
Last year’s post introduced this category for the first time. Click here to see who won in 2024. I am continuing this on and awarding the most famous baby award to my dear friend Brittaney Kate! If you don’t follow Brittaney on instagram, you should. Her family is truly the most adorable and I swoon a little bit every time I have the privilege of photographing them!

If you’ve been following along with me for a while, you know that I am just a tad obsessed with skies. I love moody skies, golden skies, colorful skies…I’ll take anything with visual interest. Maybe I should move out to Montana to big sky country?! Here in Massachusetts we do get a wide variety of skies and cloud formations and I feel so lucky to be able to document so many amazing ones. Here are some of my favorites of the year.

I think this is the first time in the history of my best sky awards that I’ve included one from a cloudless night. That beach photoshoot had the most amazing layered rainbow sky despite having zero clouds!
The coolest nursery wall is one of my favorite categories each year. Please know that I enjoy photographing babies in ALL types of homes…and a lot of time second, third+ babies don’t even have nurseries. But every time I walk into a nursery with awesome wallpaper, my visual artist heart swoons a bit. Here were my favorites of 2025:

Last year, my most unique locations included a castle and a parking garage top. This year I added two wildly unique locations to my portfolio! Both were for brand photo sessions and I had a blast creating imagery for both clients.
The first was for an animal chaplain and we had the amazing opportunity to do part of her brand photoshoot on the grounds of Unity Farm Sanctuary. I got to be inside the pen with goats, horses, alpacas, turkeys, donkeys, pigs and many more animal types. If you own a farm or have a farm related brand, SIGN ME UP. I loved every second of it!

The second unique location was for Shields Health and part of our photoshoot involved me going into both the MRI and PET scan suites. Talk about a unique situation! For the MRI, I had to stand outside the room due to the magnetic force from the machine. All photos were taken from the doorway!

My family sessions are definitely active at the baseline. We run, jump, laugh and play. However, as a three time boy mama, I would say that *most of the time* sessions that involve multiple boys tend to be on the more active side. It’s no surprise to me that the two sessions that won most active (I think the step counter on my watch would corroborate this!) included brothers!

Each year, kids tend to bring something funny to photoshoots. One year, a toddler held a car charger plug port for the entire session. She didn’t want to let go and it was easier to just go with it! This year, we had some funny kid spur of the moment props like yogurt (sometimes you get a little hangry!) and construction tools, but also some amazing adult coordinated props like a hot air balloon and s’mores…who doesn’t want THAT prop?!

My work is very much about embracing the moments…especially the funny ones. Kids are hilarious and if you give them space to be themselves, and to be silly, you can capture some truly amazing images. My top favorite of the year was definitely this one from my tree farm minis. Little bro is soaking up the attention from mom and dad and his big sisters are…..well, I’ll let the image tell the story!

My runner up favorites were this baby who was reminding me of that viral reel about the baby thinking they were the only one at the hospital and then realizing they were the third upon arriving home.

Lastly, this amazing photo bomb that makes me laugh every time I look at it:

If I had to pick a favorite category, this one would probably win. I love my portrait lens, *however* I am always after a dramatic wide angle environmental focused image. For this reason, I always have two bodies at my photoshoots so that I can get those gorgeous portrait images but then also have the ability to pull out my wide angle lens. Here are just a few of my favorites of the year:

Silhouettes are tricky when you live in a place that has a sea level elevation. Not only do you need to be in a location with elevation to help lift your clients above the tree level to get open sky, you also need it to be a night with some nice strong light. I only had the opportunity to create one silhouette in 2025 but it’s one of my favorite of all time! The moon, the birds, the rainbow sky, the kids!! I can’t even handle the gorgeousness.

I’m about to inundate you with flowers over the next two categories. I am separating them out because they are very different. This first category is to celebrate the beauty of blossoming trees. Everyone in Massachusetts goes wild for foliage/Fall imagery but I am always over here like psssstttt…. blossoming trees are prettier than foliage!! There is seriously nothing more dreamy than a grove of blossoming trees. Here we are lucky enough to experience magnolias, cherries, apple, and dogwood and I took advantage of them alllll this year.

A very different look and feel than blossoming trees is our native wildflowers which usually peaks somewhere around mid-July through mid-August depending on the rainfall that season. I adore wildflowers almost as much as I adore blossoming trees. Here are some of my favorite native wildflower session images:

I couldn’t go a year without including some of the best foliage images of 2025. I will preface this by saying that this was *not* a good foliage year. It was pretty dull and came out in weird bursts, not at all predictably. But we still managed to hit the nail on the head with some pretty foliage pictures!

One of my photography friends and I laugh that I am a total cat person (we have two!) but I loveeeee a dog in photos. Something about including fur siblings is just so visually adorable. Here are some of my favorite images of the year that included dogs who wanted to be right front and center in their family photos!

Sibling relationships are some of my favorite to capture. If you’re a parent of more than one kid, you know that siblings go through love/hate phases constantly. Sometimes it feels like 100 times a day! Capturing them loving, being playful, and sometimes being annoyed by each other fills my creative cup. Here are some of my favorite sibling images of the year:

Black and white images have a special place in my heart. Removing the color focuses your eye in on the emotion of the image and human emotions are the entire reason I got into photographing people! Black and white images need to have dynamic light that provides some contrast in order to be a striking image. Here are my favorites of the year:

Last year I traveled to New Mexico on a retreat with NAPCP and had the opportunity to photograph a family truly on the other side of the country. I didn’t travel *quite so far* this year HOWEVER I was paid to travel for a session for the first time in my career which was such an exhilarating moment! I have been working with Cup of Jo to photograph home and outfit clients for several years now. This Fall, they flew me to Pennsylvania to photograph the incredible Kate Baer. See more of her house tour on Cup of Jo here.

Last but not least, I am introducing a new category this year. I wouldn’t be where I am today in my career without the loyal families who return for family photos year after year. I just wrapped up my 11th season in business and had the pleasure of photographing the family below for the last 10, since big brother was in the belly! I am so proud to give the longest standing client of the year award to this beautiful family!

Thank you all so much for tuning in to this year’s superlatives. 2025 was a tough year in so many aspects, but your smiling faces and trust in my business kept me going month after month.
Happy New Year!
"To say that I love each one would be cliche and a total understatement, but seriously... She nailed it. Being a photographer myself, I am very picky and searched dozens of photographers before coming back to lyndsay and booking her and I am so glad I did. I can't even remember the last time I hired a photographer and was this in love with the images and unable to pick just a few favorites. Thank you, lyndsay, for making the photo session easy (with 3 kids), fun and providing this mama memories for a lifetime.”
"Our images are so special and really captured our joy and the sweet personality of our little girl. Lyndsay did a great job going beyond the typical posed shots and making our photos feel authentic. We will treasure them forever."
