When a good friend reached out to me to do a family photo session at her family’s farm before they moved away from Metro-West, I was psyched because 1. her family is gorgeous and 2. farm sessions are IT for me. When she told me her plans for a relaxed feel, barefoot, flower crowns, and a vintage dress for her little girl, I was practically drooling– photographically speaking. Last month, we met up in the evening and had an amazing time wandering through the property picking herbs, feeding the chickens, finding worms and just generally having a good time. During my family sessions I really try to encourage light-hearted playful sessions. Having a couple posed photographs with everyone looking and smiling is great, but you’ll also want to remember adventuring with your kids. Having an activity (such as picking herbs on a farm) can relax everyone and give them something to focus on aside from the fact that I am photographing them! I also love when my families choose a property that is special to them. Not only has this family spent four years living on this farm, they welcomed their oldest son earthside right on the property as well!
There are different trends in the photography world that come and go and right now it’s that the color green is not popular. Green just happens to be my favorite color. It’s the color of life, summer, my garden, the forest. Desaturating the rich greens in the following photographs would have taken away from the lush farm life that I wanted to document for this family.

"To say that I love each one would be cliche and a total understatement, but seriously... She nailed it. Being a photographer myself, I am very picky and searched dozens of photographers before coming back to lyndsay and booking her and I am so glad I did. I can't even remember the last time I hired a photographer and was this in love with the images and unable to pick just a few favorites. Thank you, lyndsay, for making the photo session easy (with 3 kids), fun and providing this mama memories for a lifetime.”
"Our images are so special and really captured our joy and the sweet personality of our little girl. Lyndsay did a great job going beyond the typical posed shots and making our photos feel authentic. We will treasure them forever."
