Each year, I set aside a day in the Autumn to photograph my beautiful mama tribe friends and their families. This year, I hosted holiday mini-sessions at the absolutely charming Mistletoe Tree Farm in Stow.  If you don’t already get your Christmas tree at this farm, you SHOULD. It’s basically the most quintessentially “New England” place I’ve ever been. I set up a simple wooden trunk instead of an elaborate backdrop. I like to keep my mini sessions much like my full family sessions— as authentic as possible, with the focus on each beautiful child or family. Since I rented the farm for a half day, I opened my sessions to my friends’ friends. The more the merrier when you are at a New England Christmas Tree Farm!

Mini-sessions are short, typically 20 minutes in length. They are not typically what I would recommend for a new client as some kids (and adults) can take a while to warm up to having a paparazzi around– ha! Luckily, most of these kids know me very well and flash me those adorable grins right away. The new faces that joined us did well too! We started with some basic portraits of each child and then moved on to family shots. When some kids were a bit nervous, we began with group photos. Every Mom knows the key to working with little ones is to just go with the flow!
