Bird Park in Walpole, Massachusetts is one of my favorite locations for a family photography session. When I look for an ideal spot, I look to see where the sun is setting, accessibility, and varied backdrops. Bird Park has beautiful paths, a pretty lake, lots of beautiful trees, and some great fields. Perfect mix of settings plus enough to fully entertain little ones!

This adorable toddler and her parents were coming up from Providence, Rhode Island for their family session so Walpole was a great in-between spot. The night was perfect…not too hot and not too cold. The sunset was sparkling on the lake and making the light look all crystalized. This nearly one-and-a-half year old couldn’t get enough of running down the paths, checking out the geese, and some great snacks! Sometimes parents feel like they have to fit their toddler into a perfect “photoshoot” mold where they stay still and smile. All that results in is stress for everyone involved! These awesome parents were so great at going with their daughter’s flow and letting her big personality shine.

When I delivered this family’s gallery, Mom told me she was so thrilled to see all the amazing expressions in her daughter that they know and love. Little glimpses of her personality at 1.5 years old that they’ll remember for years to come when they look at the images from this evening.
