I first met Arielle + Ben on a dark Autumn evening at a Starbucks. I knew from the moment we started talking and laughing that we were a great fit. They were looking for a documentary style wedding photographer for their September Farm wedding. A photographer who wouldn’t be intrusive and would capture those wonderful candid moments. This wedding photography style and farm weddings are right up my alley. Plus I could tell celebrating with everyone they loved was Arielle + Ben’s main goal. When they told me they chose me to be their photographer, I was thrilled. Who doesn’t want to photograph an orchard wedding that also happens to be a craft brewery!?
Arielle and Ben’s wedding had so many unique personal touches. These iniquities stemmed from the moment Ben proposed with a nail ring he hammered himself in his workshop. Their personalized vows had everyone crying and laughing, and then crying some more. Keeping the wedding party small honored the most treasured people in their lives. It also allowed for plenty of time to enjoy their wedding to the fullest. They surprised everyone with an amazing choreographed first dance. I’ll even admit I was a little teary-eyed behind my camera when the fabulous Night Shift played their niece’s favorite song– arranged by Arielle + Ben, of course!
During our final planning meeting, Ben had told me that he had checked years worth of Farmer’s Almanac predictions for their wedding date. According to his findings, chances were GREAT that we’d be spared from rain. What we didn’t anticipate was that it would (literally) be 92 degrees on their mid-September evening. Luckily, there was a breeze atop the hill at Hyland Orchard where their ceremony took place. After an intimate ketubah signing with just the immediate family and wedding party, guests arrived to the ceremony on a tractor. Arielle + Ben took that time to hide away in a car for some much needed pre-ceremony air-conditioning.
Arielle + Ben initially met on an online dating site. They chose to incorporate excerpts of their initial chats with each other in their vows– so personal and so hilarious. Ben broke the glass to end the ceremony and everyone paraded down the hill where the happy couple delighted everyone with one of the most amazingly choreographed first dances I’ve ever seen. Delicious barbecue, an apple cider donut station, a s’mores bar, and craft beer were highlights of the evening while Night Shift played and sang everyone onto the dance floor.
Arille + Ben, thank you for including me at your gorgeous farm wedding. The love you have for each other and your friends and family is so evident and it was a pleasure to photograph that for you!

"To say that I love each one would be cliche and a total understatement, but seriously... She nailed it. Being a photographer myself, I am very picky and searched dozens of photographers before coming back to lyndsay and booking her and I am so glad I did. I can't even remember the last time I hired a photographer and was this in love with the images and unable to pick just a few favorites. Thank you, lyndsay, for making the photo session easy (with 3 kids), fun and providing this mama memories for a lifetime.”
"Our images are so special and really captured our joy and the sweet personality of our little girl. Lyndsay did a great job going beyond the typical posed shots and making our photos feel authentic. We will treasure them forever."
