Adventure elopements have been on the rise in trends for the last couple years. The pandemic has boosted that trend even further as larger scale weddings became unsafe and illegal in most States. This is a trend I am totally on board with as intimate weddings are my absolute favorite. Whether you have just yourselves, a JP, and me or your 20 closest friends and family, let’s chat about the best 5 places to elope in Massachusetts this year!
When you live an hour or two from the seaside paradise of Cape Cod, it seems like an easy choice for beach-lovers. While the Cape has many gorgeous beaches, my favorite is Marconi Beach. The tall dunes make you feel like you’re *almost* not even in Massachusetts anymore. See more from this intimate wedding here.
Not a sand-in-your-toes person? Another favorite elopement venue of mine is the Schooner Hindu. What feels more epic and intimate than eloping on a yacht in the middle of the ocean? Not much!
The Arnold Arboretum is such a great option for city-based couples who want that secluded natural feel without having to travel far to get it! The Arboretum has something gorgeous to offer in all seasons plus it’s large enough to find a quiet corner any time of day!
Boston has a rich historical past so why not take advantage of all the city has to offer? Eloping with a small group and being flexible with dates and times opens many doors that might be unavailable during a prime large wedding timeframe. This couple eloped on an off-peak timeframe at the historic Old North Church which was a stunning backdrop for their intimate wedding. Plus, being right in the heart of Boston has it’s advantages: gorgeous backdrops for portraits are just steps away!
Whether you have a deck overlooking the ocean or a suburban backyard, your own home is a wonderful choice. Not only do you not have to worry about venue fees, timing, or transportation, it doesn’t get more personal than your own home!
With the adventure elopement trend spiking, couples can sometimes overlook a simple city hall option! Not every ceremony has to be in an epic location. What City Hall allows is ease of scheduling, a low cost ceremony, and last-minute booking options. This frees up mental space (and funds) to focus on other things like your dream portrait location or dream wedding attire…or dream elopement photographer!
So…what are you waiting for?! Let’s elope somewhere in Massachusetts in 2021!
"To say that I love each one would be cliche and a total understatement, but seriously... She nailed it. Being a photographer myself, I am very picky and searched dozens of photographers before coming back to lyndsay and booking her and I am so glad I did. I can't even remember the last time I hired a photographer and was this in love with the images and unable to pick just a few favorites. Thank you, lyndsay, for making the photo session easy (with 3 kids), fun and providing this mama memories for a lifetime.”
"Our images are so special and really captured our joy and the sweet personality of our little girl. Lyndsay did a great job going beyond the typical posed shots and making our photos feel authentic. We will treasure them forever."

"We have done multiple sessions (family and newborn) and we’re so happy with the results. Lyndsay makes you feel comfortable and is able to truly capture the moment. We will have her prints hung in our house for years to come."
- beth - framingham
"We've done it all - newborn, maternity, cake smash, family photos - and every single time we are amazed by the quality of the end product. Lyndsay captures beautiful moments that we will treasure forever!"
