Becoming a mother has been one of the most difficult yet rewarding experiences of my life. As a photographer who is also a mother, I am hyper-sensitive to the fact that mothers are often the photographer of their families and rarely in front of the lens. Because of this, I jump at the chance to photograph mothers and their children!
I have known this particular mother and daughter duo for three years now. Last year, Mama emailed to say that she would love a session alone with her and her 2.5 year old. We chose a late August date, a wildflower filled reservation, and Summer dresses. This year, we coordinated an Autumnal backdrop and met in the beautiful Tuft’s Farm Field at sunset. Some clients may wonder what attracts me to a “boring” open field for a photoshoot. Not only does an open field accentuate a gorgeous sunset, it also doesn’t detract from the subjects. Less clutter in the backdrop means more focus on your beautiful faces and the connection.
It’s always amazing to me how much children can grow and mature in one year. At 2.5, Miss E was still babyish, as two year olds are. This year, at nearly four, she was precocious and chatty, ready for an adventure. She and her mother have a beautiful bond, which I hope I did service to with our session. The evening we scheduled was a bit chilly and windy, but these girls rocked the weather in adorable vests, classic flannel, and matching boots. The skies were overcast but the golden sun kept peeking out of the clouds now and again and gracing us with it’s glow. Miss E kept us laughing with her antics and adventurous spirit as we traipsed around the field. This session was filled with snuggles and hugs for Mama, jumping, running and laughing. Enjoy!

"To say that I love each one would be cliche and a total understatement, but seriously... She nailed it. Being a photographer myself, I am very picky and searched dozens of photographers before coming back to lyndsay and booking her and I am so glad I did. I can't even remember the last time I hired a photographer and was this in love with the images and unable to pick just a few favorites. Thank you, lyndsay, for making the photo session easy (with 3 kids), fun and providing this mama memories for a lifetime.”
"Our images are so special and really captured our joy and the sweet personality of our little girl. Lyndsay did a great job going beyond the typical posed shots and making our photos feel authentic. We will treasure them forever."
