I think I have mentioned this in the past, but babies born in Winter bring back so many amazing memories for me. Both of my boys were born in the Winter months (December and January) and there’s just something special about snuggling a warm newborn baby boy inside while it’s cold and snowy outside.

This baby boy’s Mama had told me a little bit about their family before our newborn session. Mainly that they were both architects and had poured their heart and soul into renovating their Victorian for years. To say that I was excited for this session was an understatement! Aside from photography, real estate and renovations are my other passions so this session was extra special for me.

When I first arrived, I was blown away by how calm and relaxed baby boy’s new parents were. We chatted about his birth and I gushed over his amazing head of red hair (scroll down, you won’t be disappointed!). Vector, their beautiful cat, was quick to jump up and say hello and follow us from room to room. He was a little timid but totally unfazed by his new baby brother.

We began the session in their Victorian’s parlor room where Dad serenaded us with a gorgeous piano piece. I could just picture the adorableness of baby boy sitting on the bench with Dad as he grows and learns to play too! I had so much fun photographing this adorable babe amidst all of the cool architectural details of their home. This is part of what is so amazing about newborn in-home sessions.
