Spring is approaching and that means one thing for Boston area family photographers: Autumn booking season is nearly here! If you’re a new parent, you might not have any idea what an absolutely bonkers three months it is from September-November. The demand for Boston family sessions is at an all-time high. Most full-time family photographers get double or triple the requests than they can handle!

So, what does one need to know about booking Autumn Boston family sessions with Lyndsay Hannah Photography for this year?

I thought it would be fun to chat face-to-face about all these topics instead of just send you a newsletter this year. Without further ado, here I am! (bullet pointed highlights below if you don’t have time for my face!)

Locations for Boston Family Sessions

• Each year I do my absolute best to accommodate as many families as I can. This is always very hard as I usually have double to triple the interest as I have spaces since it’s such a popular time of year.
• This year, I will be offering a mix of petite and full session options at pre-selected locations based on what looks best during each month of Fall.
• September will be focused on wildflowers, October will be focused on foliage, and November will be focused on golden grasses/Winter textures. 

• I completely understand that a small portion of you responded to my Instagram poll saying you’d rather have the choice to select your own locations and this might be disappointing to hear. My suggestion is to book with me any other time of year besides September-November or I am more than happy to suggest colleagues who may have more availability than I do!

Weather

• If you book a Fall session, please make sure that you have the designated rain date available. Know that while I *wish* I could control the weather, we are at the mercy of Mother Nature. There may be a chance that the designated rain date AND the original date are rainy. In that case, we will have to work together to both be as flexible as we can to find another date. 
• When you book a sunset session, please understand that this timing *could change* by up to 60 minutes if it is an overcast day. This is to ensure we have the best available light for your session. While you might be disappointed that it’s not sunny, rest assured that overcast days are beautiful too. We are sadly not guaranteed all sunny days in the Fall, so we work with what we’ve got! 

So how does one book their family session for Autumn 2022?

2. Wait for my email announcing Autumn Session Bookings Opening (don’t worry, I give lots of warnings!)
3. Book your slot ASAP (last year, September and October sold out within 10 minutes, November was about 24 hours).
